BEING THANKFUL, EVEN WHEN YOU DON'T FEEL LIKE IT

Our lives are filled with challenging moments to change our plans and workload.

Recently we were sent a letter stating that a new home was being built about 1/2 a mile down the road from us.

It doesn’t bother me that we’re getting new neighbors, but unfortunately for them to have power, it requires the electric company to cut down many of our beautiful trees.

Some of the trees were over 30’ high and took years and years to get that way.

We were told that if we wanted to save any trees, we had just a few weeks, to move them.

My husband and I spent hours moving over 200 trees to other parts of our land, to save at least some of them.

When the power company came through, the front of our property looked like a war zone.

I was so sad to see so many wonderful trees cut down, and we were overwhelmed by the mess we had to clean up.

I prayed for God to send up people who needed wood, and would help us clean up the front of our property.

We put up a sign saying the wood was free, and for a few days, people were all over with chain saws cutting up the downed wood.

Then suddenly no one was coming any more, and we knew we needed to do something.

We asked God for strength, and trusted God to give us the help we needed to accomplish our goal.

Each day, we went out and began cutting and stacking the wood.

We put a sign saying... Free Wood and prayed for people to bless with it.

Day after day, God gave us help, and we met many beautiful people in our community, who were thankful and amazed to have a free gift.

God tells us in the Bible...

In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. 1 Thessalonians 5:18

We are to love our neighbors as ourselves, and be thankful for each day God gives us.

I wasn’t happy that our trees had to be cut down and for the extra work... but God promises to make everything work out for good to those who love him.

We were able to bless others and meet our neighbors, so for that I am thankful.

God is a rewarder of those who deligently seek him, so I trust he will bless the seeds we have sown, and reseed our land, replacing all that was taken from us.

I am thankful God gave us the ability and health to do the work, and also to be able to share this story with you all.

Beloved, today you may have a huge mess in your life and are overwhelmed with the tasks you’re facing.

Perhaps someone has cut down your dreams and you’re angry and afraid.

Ask God for the strength you need to clean up the mess and he will turn it into a miracle.

Don’t be afraid of hard work, or waste your life being bitter.

The same God who helps us each day, is willing and able to help you fight your battles and be victorious.

If God is for you, no one can be against you!

THE KEY TO GOD'S BLESSINGS

I wandered in the wilderness, for 40 years or so.

Just like the foolish Israelites... so many years ago.

I grumbled and I murmured... and continued in my mess.

For then, I did not realize... that life is just a test.

Each day we're given choices... to reach the "Promised Land."

But we must choose to seek God's way... and reach out for his hand.

Jesus always prayed... obeyed... and gave thanks to His Father.

But very often we forget, or sometimes never bother.

Our life can be so simple... if we just use the key.

God's blessings will abound to us, while praying on our knees.

Remember that our goal on earth is not for wealth or fame...

But rather to bring souls to Christ and honor to his name.

Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High: And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me. Psalm 50:14-15

Have a beautiful and blessed day!
